I think what I love best about this picture is the fashion-time-capsule aspect of it. Look at our T-shirts! And dad’s pant legs are getting dangerously wide there at the bottom.
Another time capsule comment is that the T-shirt you are wearing was MINE (there’s a pic of me wearing it, from earlier) that makes me chuckle. Look at how HAPPY I am. No wonder I grew up to be a chef.
(The can of pabst on the porch is classy, dad)

I’m not sure, but I am guessing that this was taken at Alaskaland when they used to have a collection of animals.

I really like this picture. So many sweet memories… I loved my doll, named Izzy, and I loved my swingset. I think that pioneer-style dress is just too cute, too. I had a little bonnet that went with it. Also, I think I look like Ruby in this picture.
Joe and a Friend

Joe must have just finished a soccer game. He used to play a lot.

I wonder what restuarant this was.
I think that’s either the chena or the tananna in the background. It’s a bit hard to tell but I’m fairly cerain it’s one or the other, which would put it at the pump house, or pike’s landing maybe?
Good eye, big brother! But they look so high up… I thought it might be the old Tiki Cove. It did look down on the river.

Anybody who knew me back then will not pass up the opportunity to tell the stories of how much I loved being naked. Leave me alone for 30 seconds in the back yard, and off go the clothes!
So, I was going through Grandma and Grandpa’s pictures from their 1979 visit to Fairbanks. There were a few pictures that didn’t really go with any others, so I lumped them all together here.
