C made a little bee’s wax candle. The lady who helped him is encouraging him to smell it because it smells like honey. (That’s Chris’s hair in front of C’s face.) It was a nice little project: just a long triangle of bee’s wax, rolled around a wick. Very easy but satisfying. We usually have candles at dinner and C was very excited and proud to burn his candle at dinner.

As we were walking around, we happened to pass this little cabin. I peaked inside the window and was surprised to find some women inside, in traditional dress, making lefsa. Lefsa is like a cross between a crepe and potato bread. And hot, freshly made lefsa is heavenly.

This is a not-so-traditional-norwegian feature they had at the Norsk Folkmueseum. That’s a scary santa!
We went to the Christmas Market at the Norewgian Folk Museum in Bygdøy. It was chilly, but there were lots of other people there and lots of vendors and fun christmasy things. The Norwegian Folk Museum is a collection of buildings gathered from around Norway, preserved and set up to demonstrate various aspects of traditional Norwegian life.
