Ruby’s Artwork from Early 2009

Ruby is very into drawing, and moved the representative drawings sooner than C did. Here are early examples of people/faces, and her very first name-writing.

Ruby brought this to me one evening, right after Apl was born, when Grandpa Randy was visiting. This was the ver first time she ever wrote her name, completely without any prompting or coaching from me (or from her school, trust me.) I felt so guilty that I hadn’t been working on this with her, or recognized earlier that she was ready for this! Ah, well…

I can really see Ruby’s idiosyncratic style forming here. She draws amusingly expressive faces (I think that one has a mustache, a la papa).

I mislabelled this one clearly, it was 2009 and not 2008 because this was drawn on the back of my Yarn Harlot Page-A-Day calendar.
