Out and About in the New Year

We were getting ready to embark on a big bedroom-reorganizing project, and Grandma Susie decided she just had to have coffee before such an endeavor. We’ve been coffeeless for the last 8 months :( so we all went out to find some coffee.

I’m hearing theme music.

She’s a girl with no hat, just a scarf.

He’s a boy with a hat that also fits around his neck, so he needs no scarf.

They fight crime. (With Mama and Grandma.)

I was trying out my new 135mm lens, and asked C to go down the street a bit. For some reason, he really wanted to pose with this sign.

I ended up really liking this shot. The sharpness of Ruby and the speckles on the ground contrasting with Susie, who is simultaneously disconnected from the foreground by being outside of the narrow DOF, while being pulled into the foreground by the long focal length… all the elements come together very well.
