Photos of Candles

A couple pics of candles that I took this month, and what I learned.

I feel like this really could have been a better picture, though I’m not sure just what I did wrong. Should I have cleaned up the top of the stove? I’m pretty sure the lighting is part of the problem… maybe a single, soft light from the side (as opposed to the overhead light)? Perhaps I should have moved the camera lower?

In any case, I think I should have been able to realize that this photo wasn’t going to work before I shot it; I think I’d see it now.

Much happier with this photo. The reflections of the four lower candles set the middle candle off wonderfully.

I suspected this would be a good shot, but I wasn’t sure if the distracting background would show up. Fortunately, I was able to keep it out of the shot.
