This was the first time that C wrote “C Maximus.” He’s been signing things “C” or “C Max” for a while. His school does not focus on reading and writing the same way an American Montessori school would, and I told his teacher that we need to work more in this area. And then they spent two months playing outside when the weather got nice. But we’ve been working a bit at home and there’s been nice progress. He’s excited about the work that we do. He likes reading things I’ve written best and often pretends to forget letters when we are trying to read a book. I guess reading “Sam is a fat cat” is not really all that exciting. A recent favorite game was writing simple labels for him to place around the house: bed, cat, rug, stuff like that.
