This was a picture I took of what was going on. You can see the Pringles can (which was later painted to be less recognizably a Pringles can). You can also see just how close the items were to the lens. The camera is hooked up to the computer and some software they found somewhere is controlling the shutter speed/ length of exposure (or whatever… I’m not really familiar with all the camera terms).
The software is DSLR Remote Pro; like it a lot. The camera is a Canon 400D, 50mm/1.4f lens, stopped all the way down (before we unhooked it from the camera) with exposures between 8 and 30 seconds, depending on how close the lamp was. The Pringles were paprika flavored, which is Norwegian for “bell pepper”. They were gross.

Chris and Johannes made this crazy contraption out of a Pringles can (no I’m not kidding), a spare lens cap (or something like that), and some black felt. It’s the ultimate macro lens!
