Grandma Susie is standing at the top of that platform. The idea is you drop a ball down the ramp and see how far it will go. Most of the time it goes all the way down to the end, where C is picking balls out of the red box.

yeah, that’s just weird

It was an exhibit about animals and life in the forest and how animals get around and stuff… they were trying to make the point that the sense of smell is very important to animals. But it just came off kind of weird.

Play Dr. Frankenstein to learn more about animals! These were magnetic bits of animals that you could recombine to make freakish creations.

On a more normal note, what child doesn’t love squirting stuff with water bottles? The small plastic shapes stick to the large plastic wall with water.

Grandpa Randy and Chris where back there playing with the animals the whole time C was doing the “stained glass.”

dada sign
2007 September 25 · 10:27AM · Tuesday

Ok, to make this sign make sense, you should know: 1. the Iowa Children’s Museum has a turtle named Peter, and 2. the sign was on the wall next to a giant papier mache turtle. I think Chris just thought the phrase “Monster Peter” was too good to pass up.

After the disappointment about Portland’s Children’s Museum being closed, we were doubly happy to revisit Iowa City’s Children’s Museum. We had a ton of fun with Grandma Susie and Grandpa Randy playing in the exhibits.
