Ruby is standing in front of C’s school. We just dropped him off, and she’s fooling around in front of the door. If you look closely, you can see she has Izzy (doll) stuffed in her sweatshirt, peaking out the top.
Apparently, I took very few pictures this week. Sunday Picture Surprise!
Monday, a sunny sunny day, I got Ruby all enrolled and deposit layed down for Treklang. I called about my job interview, and I was told that I would have an answer soon. It’s a knitting week (we alternate every other Monday). We had a new knitter, too, which makes a group of about 5 ladies. Very nice! Lauren got a new job (at a coffee shop) and has been home all week for dinner because she’s working the early shift. It’s nice to be seeing more of her again. Tuesday Chris left for yet another trip. Thursday Ruby, Lauren, and I met our new knitting friend Lara for coffee and the she came with us to pick up C today and we had a fun walk home. The kids seem to like her a lot, and it was all running and laughing the whole way. Chris returned Saturday, it was a shorter trip this time because he was going to Boston, but still jetlaggy.
I finally asked C’s teacher for a real update on his progress. She says he is speaking Norwegian at school occasionally, usually full sentences/phrases. He’s trying to make more friends (up to this point it’s just been Christian Andres, really). She says she has introduced the pink cubes, brown stair, and the number rods, but that she hasn’t done much other work with him beyond that, no preparation for writing or reading. She insists that the staff is only speaking Norwegian with him, though I hear plenty of English when I pick him up. I hate pushing her, but I’m not satisfied with his progress really.
