Why does C have a lussekate hanging from his mouth? I don’t know. I can never tell with that kid.

St. Lucia’s day is a holiday that I have never celebrated before, but seems to be relatively popular here. I remembred it a little bit from the “multi-cultural” Christmas celebrations in school — this was before Kwanzaa, so we had to make do with Northern Europe as a different culture. St. Lucia is the girl with the wreath of candles on her head. The message that I got from Norwegians was that this holiday is about families, and children, and celebrating the return of light, and eating little buns called “lussekatte” (Lucia cats). Sounds good to me!
I have always especially enjoyed holidays with food associated with them; I like to collect these holidays and recipes. So I was very excited to find another. And the lussekate were really great!
