She insists on putting this hat on backwards… I don’t know why! The front side is wider, so it doesn’t get in your eyes like that. But I guess this offers better cheek coverage.

C dipping candles

There’s a candlemaker’s workshop and they offer a candle-dipping activity for children. C chose the same colors as the first year we visited (light green and dark green.)
C did candle dipping at a recent “Colonial Days” event at school. He loved it! We showed him these old pictures, and he barely remembered it. Memory is such a funny thing!

This was sort of midway between areas. I was a little surprised the museum people chose to put such prettily carved doors in such an out-of-the-way place. But it was a nice place for a hugely pregnant lady to sit and rest a minute.

This was in an area we hadn’t visited before, with more modern buildings (well, 1700’s – 1800’s I think). Less with the carving, more with the fancy paint.
J-Bone, look what I found!

In the Norsk Folkemuseum, near the candle workshop.
I knew someone would to name a street after me sooner or later! :)
Last year we missed the Christmas market at the Norskfolkmuseum, so I made extra sure to get there this year. It was lots of fun, as expected. We browsed the booths, bought cookies, ate freshly fried Norwegian doughnuts, dipped candles, and hunted up the candied apples.
