not the grand canyon

Along the way up to the canyon, there was this little not-quite-grand canyon. We stopped and peeked in, and it was pretty impressive, but then we went to the actual Grand Canyon and then this one totally paled in comparison.

I don’t know what Ruby is pointing at, but this was about the the time that Apl refused to climb any further up. She was seriously freaked out by the tower, looking down from the stairs and walkways that wound up the inside of the tower. Chris had to take her back out again.

We took a detour up to the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff. This was when we found out that Apl is afraid of heights.
