Last Full Day in Salema

We decided to mostly stay in Salema and just soak it all up today. We did make a trip to Lagos to the big Modelo store, and I also spent an hour at the post office trying to mail some packages. One of them was 60 grams (a very small amount — like a small chocolate bar) over the general limit for the cheaper postage, so I had to do some creative repackaging. We also got adventurous at the fish counter in the store. We bought salmon, prawns, and “a pink one”.

I guess Dad might be thinking of investing in some real estate here… he took this picture. :)

My mom was always very useful for taking the kids out for a walk when things got a little hectic in the apartment. On this walk, they are looking for sticks for my (secret) project.

I caught up to Dad and Ruby as they walked home, and she was holding onto him like this. He said she was hugging him to that he wouldn’t make her walk. :)

Mom and Dad kept calling the porch a “lannai”. I guess it’s Hawai’ian.

It’s the last night of Christmas. That’s the local fruit cake vareity. Chris liked it a lot. I liked it moderately well. It went nicely with the amaretto.

The “pink one” is at the back of the plate. We just cooked it whole, and it was delicious.

Dad likes to make me laugh before he takes a picture. Sometimes it makes for a good picture… sometimes I just look goofy!

So, the chocolate treat came out first. Then the children saw the clementines hiding inside the tree pot. Chocolate shoved aside, C pounced. C was seriously excited about the clementines.
