Garden!

We are garden sharing with our new friends the Jarviks … we have a garden and no experience, they have experience and no garden. Win-win! This was our first intensive day of work in the garden, removing grass and preparing the beds.

We took out the yucca plant, too, and ended up with 6 beds semi-concentrically arranged around the deck.

Obviously, Chris’s expression is meant to convey how dismayed he is to realize that he missed his true calling as a farmer. Or as a gravedigger, since you can’t tell what’s gonna go into that bed, and the trellis looks vaguely funereal.

We took all the leaves from the front yard into the back, to get some composting going on.
