This was at the third time singing the birthday song — Apl just loved it! You can see there was a costume change there between dinner and dessert. Ruby really loves dressing Apl up (when Apl will tolerate it!).

Apl had her second birthday on the day after we arrived home from our long, long visit to the States. We were all tired and jetlagged, but we just had to celebrate! I made sweet potato pancakes and apple pie. The kids played dress-up, and Ruby even insisted I wear my dress and fancy flower that I wore at her birthday party. We sang Happy Birthday three times because Apl was just so tickled by it!
