Ari has Mom’s camera (and took this shot), and Mom has mine! I love birthday cake. Maybe because I only get it once a year : ).
As for the Sunday Picture week-review: it was a bit stressful making it to the US, but the flight was not too bad. The jet lag was hard to get through, but the kids worked through it in just a couple of days. We lounged around the Bonjour Ancestral Home (Grandma’s and Grandpa’s house, that is :) and visited many local parks. It was great to have another birthday party with everyone in attendance. I only see most of these people once a year, but the family connection is a strong one.

Grandpa was confused because Ruby kept pointing at the cake and grunting, but wouldn’t take the bite he was offering her. My guess is she wanted to feed herself, but she would have made a mess so I didn’t say anything to Grandpa. Finally after 7 or so trys, she took the bite and loved it.

We had a joint Glenn-Katy birthday party, as is our custom. I turned 29 (eep!) and Grandpa turned 85 (wow!). It rained in the morning, so we decided to have the party at Aunt Thelma’s. It was sunny and beautiful in the afternoon (though everything was wet, so it was a good thing we didn’t go to the park). There were lots of people there, and I even met some people for the first time. We had lots of fun at Aunt Thelma’s house, as usual. It was a great party.
