Movie of C walking along the path
2006 July 7 · 5:49PM · Friday
This is a relatively short movie of C walking. He says “There’s the water” and then something that I can’t understand.

The leis were part of the merry-making, and Krips was thoughtful enough to bring bubbles for the kids.

Chris, Ruby, Katy and C, just doing our thing…

A rare picture of the four of us together! Thanks to Pavel for this little slice-of-life picture. It’ll have to serve as Sunday Picture.
We’ve been taking it slow these last few weeks, trying to savor the summer. We’ve had a few visits to St Hanshaugen, and we’ve been to the åpen barnehage a few times (though we go a lot less frequently than we used to). Lauren’s been looking for more excitement, though, so we attended this Opera expat party. It proved a fateful choice: it’s where she met Karl Anders!

Thanks to Pavel (I think) for this picture.
What can I say — I am a great multi-tasker. Please note the camera in the other hand!
Katy and Ruby in a party hat

I’m leaning back in that funny way because I thought Chris was just taking a picture of Ruby in the hat, and I was trying to get out of the shot!
Katy, Ruby, Markus

That is Markus, a really nice guy who works at Opera. He’s from Germany so he has a cute accent, too.
Markus and Lauren: party hats!
2006 July 7 · 6:38PM · Friday
The party hats were sized more for children, so it was difficult for some of the adults to get them on. Won’t stop Lauren from trying!
Lauren and C: yay, fun party hats!

C’s is a little crown. They were having so much fun!
Lauren and C are the life of the party

C only wore the crown-hat for a few minutes, but it was pretty cute! In the background you can see Karl Anders and Sissel, who Lauren got to know better later when they went out together.
It looks like two people in this picture are looking to get leied! WOO HOO!

We haven’t seen Krips in a while and C was very happy to see her.

I finally got a party hat, too! That’s my jaunty-party-hat pose, in case you are wondering. Ruby’s has a crescent moon and a star — were they going for Turkish or Harry Potter?
C plays peeky on the bus home
2006 July 7 · 8:08PM · Friday
We finally went home, past our bedtime. C is playing peek-a-boo with the little boy in the front seat. It’s actually the driver’s son. He was a really sweet boy, and they played the whole drive back to the city.

That’s Karl Anders on the left, Kripanjali and Markus in the middle. Lauren’s stuffing her face. I don’t know who the other guy is. Thanks to Yenni for sharing the picture.

I don’t know who the guy is; but the other girl is Sissel. Thanks to Yenni for sharing her pictures!
Lauren and Opera People at the Party
2006 July 7 · 9:30PM · Friday
Kripanjali and some of the other people at Opera organized a treasure hunt (using Opera Mini on cell phones and such) for the ex-pat crowd at Opera. We skipped to the end because we thought is seemed adult-oriented and would actually not be that much fun for the children. We met Krips and a few other Opera people at Huk and waited for the rest of the group to show up. Huk is a very nice nature-walk and beach area. While we were waiting we had fun with party hats and played in the Oslofjord a bit. We also got to know some of Chris’s co-workers a bit better. Lauren ended up staying after we took the children home, and went out with a bunch of them and had a great time.
