C, Ruby, Lauren in the back of the bus

Buses in Oslo are low-riding, and there is a section at the back of the bus where the seats are all raised two or three steps, above the wheels; and there is another row of seats at the very back that are set a step higher than that. These seats are higher than most passenger cars. C recently discovered the seats in the back of the bus. And he always wants to sit there.
Checking out the beds at IKEA

There are a few different beds in this style at IKEA: bunkbeds with the lower bed directly on the floor (might even be a play area and not a bed), and the upper bed is about chest-height on an adult.

These chairs actually hang from the ceiling and are only barely brushing the floor.

Movie of Ruby and Lauren playing in the hanging chairs

What a cute movie! And a good illustration of how cool these hanging chairs are. I wish we knew how to install one in our place … but I just don’t know anything about that kind of thing.
Ruby, C, Lauren and the flower lights
2006 July 7 · 11:02AM · Friday
If this picture is a little hard to make sense of, here’s what’s going on: there is a hole in the wall that Lauren is peeping through. The children are on the other side, playing with the flower switch-lights.
We made a trip out to IKEA this morning with Lauren. Man I love that place! We got an early start, and being a weekday it was not too crowded, which was really nice. We did the usual tour around and picked up a few needed (and a few frivilous) things. I discovered that the fabrics/upholstery section has a remnants bin! We spent a lot of time in the children’s furniture section. We’ve been contemplating how to shift around our sleeping arrangements. 4 people in one bed, even a big one, is a little crowded. A very busy morning, and we got home in time for nap.
