A trip to Frogner Park

2006 July 2, Sunday · Frognerpark, Oslo, Norway

We visited Frognerpark. We thought Lauren would enjoy it (it’s a must-see for anyone visiting Oslo), and the childrens always enjoy going. Also, there was an early 4th of July celebration and we wanted to check it out. It wasn’t so great, there was an “American” band singing Elvis songs and various groups (like the Oslo American Women’s Club, and the International School) who had booths selling American foods like donuts and sloppy joes. The American Women’s Club had a used book tent, which was the highlight for me. I got a bunch of nice books (in English), and we even bought Candlyland. After all that we went to our current favorite pizza place, which is near Frogner.

Ah well, it was so long ago, I’m not really sure what happened this week. We were happily hanging out with Lauren, enjoying summer in Oslo. See also this picture of C. None of me from this week!

C playing on the statues

Playing around on the statues is one of the funnest things about going to Frognerpark.

C on another statue

I thought the wear patterns on this statue were funny — her lap and hands were obviously very inviting to sit on, so they are very dark and worn. And then her other inviting parts (ah hem) are also very dark from handling.
