On this page, a few pictures of Carl, and one of Carl and his family on a picnic. Also, a picture is missing. So sad!

Only one picture left! But I think I identified one of the others. Missing pictures captioned as “To the left: Carl, This picture was taken in Berwyn, Ill. on the side of Helen and Kurt’s place.” and “Above: Carl and I”.

So I think this is the picture that belongs on this page. At least, it seemed like it to me. Violet wrote: “Carl Scherman. This picture was taken somewhere in Oak Park” I guessed the date; Carl and Violet met around 1923, and in 1920 Carl was living with Kurt and Helen in Oak Park.

The date is just a guess. Also, I’ve seen other pictures like this around. Violet wrote: “To the right: On a picnic at Sinissippi Heights. Sister, Gussie, Carl, Wallie, and Mother is in the back” Then Jean re-labelled: “Aunt Sis, Gus, Dad, and Brother Walt.” That is indeed Frieda to the left, then Gus, Carl and Walter. Wilhelmina is in the back. The fourth brother, Kurt, is absent.
