Violet and a friend — 1923 |
Violet wrote: “Above: Therese and I: At Crandall’s home in Michigan”. This is not Theresa (Tess), Violet’s sister. It looks nothing like her! Must be a friend. Also, Violet’s hair is so long, I wonder if this wasn’t some time before 1923. It seems like she cut her hair around the time she turned 16 (1923), but maybe that was right after this?

Some friends of Violet — June, 1923 |
Violet wrote: “Taken at the grounds of Oak Park High School: Gladys Steigenwold is at the right” It also says “sweet sixteen June 1923.” I don’t think the girl on the left looks like Violet. Her hair seems so light, and her nose seems all wrong.
