Dave looks so cute in the sailor suit! This is the only picture I’ve ever seen of him in it, though. Is it just a new-sailor photo op, or is it a real uniform?

These were taken when he first got to boot camp. They are his real uniform, the “cracker jack” one. They don’t have this one any more. This picture was taken about a week after the ones taken on New Years Eve 1972 when his hair was so long. When I got these in the mail, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I almost didn’t recognize him!
