Very Last of Christmas — January 4, 2010

On the day Apl and I arrived back in Oslo, we opened the presents Grandma Susie sent home with us, and there was a package from Mercedes waiting, too!

Awesome new tent technology! You just lift up the center and it all pops into place. Where was this last time I went camping!?

The kids loved the tent and slept in it for many many nights.

The pillow case from grandma Susie was a big hit.

Sally also sent along a few presents for the kids. I wasn’t quick enough to catch the other ones, but there was a “Ragggedy Sally” doll for Apl, a craft book for C (Sal, we are ½ way done with the mouse, it’s very fun :) and this is a pencil roll that Ruby loves.

a present for Katy… — Jan 4, 2010 at 11:20 pm

After buying about 15 hanks of yarn in Sacramento, I decided I should probably get a swift. This model was recommended because it folds away small and is relatively durable (according to the shop lady). It does feel somewhat like a cheap umbrella, but it held my hank open while I made a center-pull ball by hand. I was able to ball it in less than 10 minutes, whereas before this activity took about an hour or more. So, yay!
