Sledding in the Front Yard

Well… it wasn’t really our front yard, so much as the street in front of our apartment. And we had originally intended to go sledding at the park, but it was -20°C outside (the coldest we have seen since we came to Oslo). All in all, I think we were only outside for ½ hour or so.

These crowns have been pretty popular and local fairs and handcrafts markets, and Ruby’s been pretty interested in getting one. I’ve been putting it off because they cost between $15 and $30, and I just couldn’t bring myself to buy one knowing that it’s one skein of yarn for about $5 and about 3 hours of knitting.

This yarn is Rauma Vamsegarn and took be about one night to knit, and then felted it a little bit. I sewed on some rhinestoney buttons for a little bling, though Ruby tells me now she really wanted the version that’s sprinkled with seed beads. Maybe another winter…
