The First Batch — December 30, 2009 at 2 am

On our first visit to the LYS I picked up a few yarns. (I freely admit that we went back another day and bought a few more :).

Schoppel Wolle — Dec 30, 2009 at 2:23 am

This is an absolutely irresistable ball of German sock yarn, that promised to make two socks, and even though I am not in the habit of knitting socks I bought it. I don’t get the opportunity to buy exotic yarns that often! I’m sure I’ll find something to do with it.

Lana Bambu — Dec 30, 2009 at 2:24 am

The second purchase at Rumpelstiltskin had an actual intended use: a new hat to go with Apl’s new fancy coat.

Drop Spindle cotton/rayon/silk — Dec 30, 2009 at 2:25 am

This was my first skein of souvenir yarn, from The Drop Spindle in Santa Maria, California. Handwritten on the label is “Andy”, maybe that’s the yarn type? It’s cotton, rayon, and silk, and the colorway is “Jungle”. It seemed more ocean-reefy to me, but totally gorgeous whatever you call it.
