Ruby loves to sing songs she learned at school. One of her recent favorites that she learned at home, though, is the Portal Song. Spoiler Alert: don’t click on that until you’ve beaten Portal — this means you, Johannes!

Apl was getting cold, and I admit I wasn’t properly prepared for the cold weather. So we put her extra pair of tights on her hands and made her extra wool diaper cover into a hat. Yeah, I know, the crazy is catching.

I was taking a picture of Apl to check on her (I can’t see her when she’s in the backpack). She looks so sad!!! We were headed back to the train at this point, where we warmed up and everything got better.

While C was having his first visit at elementary school, I took Grandma Susie and the girls a few stops north on the train up into the forest. We walked through our regular paths in the forest and found a little spot in the blueberry bushes for our picnic. Unfortunately, the sun went away and it got pretty cold. The day after this, C’s class went on a forest hike and they reported that it snowed a little while they were there! I was not prepared for that…
