I had a hard time finding an egg dying kit here, so we used the food coloring we had on hand and some blueberry juice. Hey, it worked!

Yes, I had to make our egg cradle out of pipe cleaners and we only had glitter pipe cleaners. Hey, it worked!

no, Papa!

The soundtrack to this picture would be Ruby saying “No, Papa! Don’t drink it!” It’s blueberry juice, so Chris was tempted.

This was our spring-themed meal: yellow biscuits, our colored hardboiled eggs, yellow peppers, and kumquats. We also had green tea with orange peel. The kids chose the foods aroung the idea of spring colors, which they consider to be yellow and orange.
We had popovers this morning with fresh strawberries! Forgot how lovely and easy those things are.
I like your meal… the colors work well and are very springy!
The kids are home all week for Spring/Easter break, and I’ve had a lot of fun keeping them occupied. We made “little mini pizzas” like one of their favorite youtube videos, baked cookies and muesli bread, dyed eggs, and had a spring-themed dinner. C did a lot of buidling with legos, played a lot of Spore, and worked on reading and writing this week. Ruby has been working on drawing, storytelling, singing, and some writing also. Apl has been working on smiling, eating, and pooping.
