the Bonjour monolith
2008 September
I think this is the grave of Frédéric Aimé Bonjour, who was originally buried somewhere else, exhumed, and re-interred here. There seems to be no inscription other than “Bonjour”.
headstone, Lydia Bonjour Yungbluth
2008 September
Lydia Bonjour was the daughter of Thomas and Fanny. Inscription reads “father Henry J. 1870 – 1947” and “mother Lydia J. 1876 – 1973”.
Dad notes that Lydia and her brother Paul were estranged, and did not speak to each other for 50 years. It was an argument over money. Lydia’s grandson is into genealogy and looked up grandpa Bonjour (Glenn) when he was visiting town once and then went with them to the family reunion. He accompanied themon this trip to the cemetary also.
Frederick Bonjour

Randy at Fannie’s Grave
2008 September
This is the gravestone of Fannie Bonjour, daughter of Thomas Louis Bonjour and Fanny Jane Needham, who lived from 1885 to 1887. Inscription says “Fannie, daughter T.L. & F. Bonjour, died Mar 18, 1887” and I can’t read the last line.
headstones, Roscoe and Ione Bonjour
2008 September
Inscription reads “Roscoe L. 1912 – (not inscribed)” and “Ione N. 1920 – 2004” and I can’t read the other side of the headstone.
A while back, Dad and I attempted to find the cemetery in Apple River. We weren’t able to find it. Dad sent me these pictures this autumn, after he took his Dad for a drive and they were able to find the cemetery.
