Dinner with Brent and Sally

We had to go to a Japanese restaurant at least once on our trip, so we invited Brent and Sally out to Brent’s favorite, Ichidai. We had a lot of fun, and boy-howdy a lot of good food.

Back at Brent and Sally’s house, Sally gives us a break and reads a story to the kids. She was super fantastic about engaging them and keeping them interested and happy. I was still so jetlagged that the best I could manage was reminding them to go potty now and then and occasionally making sure they weren’t breaking stuff. Sally was great, and the kids are still talking about her. They want to go back to her house!

This week’s picture is a composite from our dinner with Brent and Sally, on the first Sunday we are back in Portland. We loved revisiting all the really great “ethnic” (non-American, non-Norwegian) food in Portland.
