orange print

C’s report of how this was made: “I used scissors, and I cutted it. Then I sticked it on. Then I used paint on it, and layed the paper down.”

pink and yellow print
2007 June
I’m not really sure how they made this, but it looks like it was fun. C loves using our brayer at home (that’s the paint-roller like tool that one uses in the printing process).

Another horizontal line, with an interesting arc off to the side. Perhaps a “C”?
tissue collage

I’ve always thought tissue collages were particularly pleasant activity for children, with nice results.
C’s Dots and Lines
2007 June 4, Monday
I thought this one was interesting because of the purple line, and the yellow line that goes sort of opposite of it (purples goes up, yellow goes down).
pink line

A few of his creations lately feature this central bisecting line.
C’s “butterfly”
2007 June 19, Tuesday
At the end of the year party, there was a large banner with a butterfly drawn by each child. I use the term “drawn” loosely. This must have been a trial run for the one on the banner. I can’t help feeling that his artistic development was violated by this… he’s not ready for representational art, clearly indicated by everything else he’s brought home, or done at home. I’m sure his teachers thought it was cute. But it just seems like another indicator of them being out of touch with his developmental needs. (No, I’m not completely satisfied with them.)
C gets bundles of art sent home from school. I scanned some of them this time.
