C’s Magnet Boat Creation

Our dear friend Brent gave C these magnets when he visited us a couple of years ago in Portland. He’s always really liked them, but really only started making complex structures with them in the last couple of months. Before, he would just click the magnets together and pull them apart, which is it’s own kind of fun. On this morning, he made a wide structure and said it was a boat (made for Grandpa Randy) and it had a viking-reminiscent prow. He showed me how it went up (“awake”) and down (“asleep”).

C is holding his hands up at the beginning, because I told him to take his hands away from it so I could get a clear shot. Funny guy. Then he explains a little bit about it. He says he made it for Grandpa Randy, and that he wants to send Grandpa and email about it. It’s asleep with its head down, and awake with its head up.

It’s “awake” with the head up, and “asleep” with the head down.
