Christmas in Portugal

This trip was just awesome. Maybe the best vacation I’ve ever been on. The weather was perfect. Our holiday apartment was perfect. The beach was perfect. The food was perfect (well, Portugeuse food is not that great, but we mostly cooked for ourselves, and we cook good!) The pace was perfect. And for future reference, we will always vacation with people who are willing to take the kids on walks to the beach at 7 am. Because we’re not.

In preparing C for our trip, we told him all about Portugal and that people speak Portuguese there. He was very excited to visit “Pork-i-chall” and hear the people speak “Pork-i-cheese”.

I improvised a little backpack for Ruby for the trip. She likes C’s backpack and I thought she would enjoy having one, too; I thought it might make it feel more like an exciting journey for her. She put a book, one of the soft Izzy-dolls, and the stuffed dog in it.
