The teachers at Treklang always made cute little books for the children, with a picture that they drew each month throughout the year, and a few photographs at the end. This is Ruby’s “graduation” book because it was her last year at Treklang!

Knitting! — Jun 2, 2011 at 1:55 pm

These are the needles and yarn Ruby got in Paris; she doesn’t knit often, as you can see, she’s only got three or so rows here. But sometimes the urge hits her and she gets a few stitches in.

Summertime! — June 2, 2011

Lauren, Stella, and Karl joined us for a picnic in the park. Stella loves exploring and eating leaves! And everyone else loves eating yummy grilled food.

Urban Treehouse — June 4, 2011

The kids were bouncing off the walls and it was a beautiful day. I shoved us all out the door to gather dandelions (for making honey) and to show the kids an awesome thing I stumbled across downtown: a treehouse! Yes, someone built a treehouse in one of the small downtown parks. I’m not sure who they were or how they got permission, but it was really cool!

We Stumbled Upon a Treehouse — Jun 4, 2011 at 1:55 pm

They built a treehouse! In the middle of Oslo! We went back the next day to visit properly.

Along The Way — June 5, 2011 at 10 am

We headed out on a fine summer day, and Chris took these pictures along the way. A crown, a game, a yarn bomb, more of the same.

Dandelion Honey — June 5-6, 2011

We read about making dandelion honey in various places on the internet so we decided to try it ourselves. The instructions vary, but I think it’s really simple actually. We ended up gathering way way too many dandelions and had some extra work to do afterwards because we gathered the whole blossom and not just the petals. Anyway, it was a good experiment. And tasty!

Sognsvann! — June 5, 2011

We always talk about going out to this lovely lake but we hardly ever manage to do it! So glad we made the effort, it was a lovely day. We were on the hunt for dandelions to make dandelion honey. And indeed we found plenty! We also took a long walk all the way around the lake and did some hiking up into the woods.
