We usually celebrate Christmas over a long period of time, to avoid the Christmas-morning freak out. But this year things got a little out of hand! We celebrated Christmas for like 5 weeks this year! We finally had one last Christmas hurrah when we arrived in Iowa. We opened the last of the presents and had a really great time.

We went to the Children’s Museum in Coralville, one of our favorites! This time they had a special exhibit about planes and aerodynamics and such, so that was very fun.

Definitely the best restaurant I’ve eaten in, in Iowa. A surprise, and a real treat, to find a fine vegan establishment. The menu was varied and imaginative, and they had pretty good beer, too. Sadly it closed down this year (with rumors to re-open). Boo, and yay!

C takes the cake for being a messy eater, and Ruby is the queen of making funny faces. Apl is such a funny mix of the two of them — like making a huge mess while making funny faces.

So, we got kind of caught up in whatever else we were doing and no one really noticed Apl wasn’t around, kind of assuming she was just in the other room with someone else. Well… she was in the bathroom flossing and spreading toothpaste all over the baby doll’s bum and sticking pieces of toilet paper to her fave. Parenting fail…

We went to Savanna for the weekend, and we were lucky enough to meet up with cousin Sarah and adorable little Miranda. The girls had a lot of fun together, especially when Grandma turned on the radio and they had a little dance party.
