Over the last couple of months I’ve been taking random iPhone pics here and there. And here they are. A little peek into our days.

Moving Out of Town — January 2, 2010 |
We checked out of the hotel downtown (it was a nice hotel, but expensive plus expensive parking; we moved out to the wastelands near the miles and miles of shopping malls… hey, I needed to do some shopping.)

We had some time to spend waiting at the San Francisco airport, and Apl spent some of it rifling around in the suitcase. She’s so cute!

On the day Apl and I arrived back in Oslo, we opened the presents Grandma Susie sent home with us, and there was a package from Mercedes waiting, too!

The Night Before — Jan 5, 2010 at 6:01 pm |
That’s about 100 pounds of apples. I used an apple corer/slicer (where you shove it down on the apple and the core pops out and the rest is divided into 6 pieces… not the kind with a hand crank) to process the apples and kept all the parts. It took longer than overnight to thaw them, even on our heated bathroom floor! The freezing dramatically assisted the releasing of juices, and there was juice all over. I actually lost a couple of liters that I would have used. :(

Cider Making — January 6, 2010 |
We collected a ton of apples this fall at the community garden, and froze them in preparation for making cider. We waited for a long time to get the apple press, but finally it arrived! Then Christmas happened, and I went on a trip, etc. Anyway. Finally we do the cider!

Dinner Time, Where Ruby is a Goat — January 8, 2010 at 7 pm |
What’s going on here? I don’t know… looks like Ruby is pretending to be a goat and the rest of us are eating dinner. That’s usually how it goes.
