First Picnic of the Year — May 1, 2009

Our first warm sunny day for a picnic… We got a disposable grill, easy grill food, and went to our favorite spot in the park. We played with the camera remote. We used to take timer pictures of us a lot, but we haven’t in a long time, and I think we’ll start doing it again now and then.

Photos from St. Hanshaugen — May 1, 2009

A trip to St. Hanshaugen park with my 85mm/1.2, playing with the fabulous bokeh of this lens. Partly it was sort of an experiment with bokeh, parly with impressions and composition and forms and such, and partly a look at the park from the eyes of a photographer who was not wearing his glasses.

A Tree at the Park — May 1, 2009 at 6:02 pm

I took this photo over six months ago. I almost really love it, but… I don’t think I quite pulled it off. So I tried to see it in b&w, and I like it even more… but I still don’t think I quite pulled it off. Too messy, too distracting. Maybe I’ll try it again someday.

Feed Problems — May 2, 2009 at 9:54 am

So, at least some people are not getting our posts on their feeds anymore. I tried, guys, really I did… I suspect that it has something to do with either some ephemeral feed ID, or the SSL forwarding requests from http to https, or the inauspicious alignment of Jupiter with a rotting turnip in Zaragoza… one or more of these, I suspect. (This web stuff might seem like regular programming, but it’s really quite different.)

Anyway, if you aren’t getting posts, maybe try to delete the old feed and resubscribe? (Like, reboot your feed.)

Sorry. :(

Apl Tasting — May 2, 2009 at 6 pm

Apl is three months old now, time for her to start tasting (very small) tastes of fresh fruit juices. This is to (very) gradually get her used to regular food flavors and textures before we start doing the serious work of weaning 6 – 9 months from now. Little baby is growing up! We scraped a tiny bit of juice from a fresh-cut apple and put a couple of drops in her mouth.

Feed Maybe Working Again?? — May 4, 2009 at 1:30 am

Um, I think I maybe fixed the problem with the feed that we were having. Sorry if you just got a flood of stuff. (Plus this.)

Turned out to be an SSL redirect thing (and not the aforementioned turnip). Blah, blah, acronyms, blah… but I think it’s working, anyways.

Chris and Apl in Glasses — May 6, 2009 at 10:21 am

Apl just got her first pair of baby sunglasses. I think it’s hilarious that she looks like she’s fake-smiling. Cheese!

Sisters — May 9, 2009 at 8:52 am

Just a regular morning… I put Apl in the basket to hang out with Ruby while I was getting things ready. I came back to find Ruby happily entertaining/being entertained by Apl. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but Apl has both arms around that doll. (That’s Jane Chevrolet, by the way, named after Jane Banks from Mary Poppins, and Chevrolet, Ramona Quimby’s doll.)
