C’s Year Book — June, 2008

They kept a drawing of C’s every month all year and put them together in this book with some photos. A nice idea. We really enjoyed it.

Jen and Family at the Zoo — June 1, 2008

Lauren, Jen, and kids went to the San Diego Zoo, woo hoo! They visisted the petting zoo, the insect house, and it looks like they did a quick tour through the rest of the zoo. Though I know from experience this is no “quick tour” kind of zoo. That place is like Noah’s ark.

At the Fun Fun Playground — June 1, 2008

There was this playground near their hotel, and Chris said they visited it a number of times. Looks like it was a lot of fun!

Summer Picnic on the Island — June 3, 2008

Chris and C were still recovering from jetlag, so after they woke up we fetched Ruby from school and had an early afternoon picnic at Hovedøya, in the Oslo bay. There are ruins on a monestary to explore, and a big field to run in. We even spotted some grazing sheep!

Summer Festival at Treklang — June 5, 2008

There was a summer festival at Treklang, with a special concert and art exhibit followed by a picnic with all of the parents. I, of course, forgot which day it was. Lauren was there to pick up the kids, though, and called Chris and I to come from work as soon as we could. We managed to cobble together a picnic and not look too lame for forgetting.

Just another day — June 5, 2008 at 7 pm

A lazy day. With a camera.

Red Picnic — June 8, 2008 at 5 pm

The theme for this picnic seems to have been red, though it was unconscious. Ruby wore a red dress, we have a red picnic blanket, and C charmed some strangers out of their cherries. The kids have spent nearly the whole last month outside at school, so they always come home caked in dirt. Check out those dirty toes!
