Another quiet evening meal with mom and dad. We made cornbread, asparagus, a salad and chipotle (chipolty? chitople? chilope?) beans… better known as dad’s “snowmachine beans”.

We visited the ice park this year. I think there was no international sculpture competition this year, but there were a few sculptures and lots of fun stuff like slides.

We took a family trip out to Chena Hot Springs. I’ve been here quite a few times in my life, and it’s really improved since the early days. It’s a realy authentic hot spring, with plenty of stinky sulphur smell and the drinking water tastes blechy, but I love hot springs and swimming, so I think this place is just great.

On the way home from Chena Hot Springs, we stopped near the river to celebrate with a little bubbly. Dad had just finished the deal to sell the car store, and was looking forward to the life of a man of leisure!
