I drove by this everyday on my way to school for my entire elementary and high school years. It’s the old coal bins, in operation until they were condemned and torn down to build a hardware store. It’s kind of like those bulk-food dispensers in stores. You drive your truck under the chute you want, pull the big rope and coal pours out into your truck bed. Then they weigh your car to see how much coal you took. A little piece of Fairbanks gone!

Playing Croquet — August 20, 1995

We visited Aunt Sally and family on my pre-college trip with mom. We played croquet, as is traditonal for me and cousin Zach. Zach wore head protection, as is also traditional, giving my history of wacking him in the head.
