Ruby, in front of our steps
2006 January 20 · 11:30AM · Friday
Ruby is wearing the lady bug boots that C used to wear. I have a pair that match! They aren’t great snow boots, but they are the only outdoor-footwear that she has right now that she can walk around in. We’re working on getting her some new boots or shoes, though, now that’s she walking!

In the background you can see our yellow saucer and the little snow shovel. C likes being pulled in the sled, but is a little weary about sledding down a hill. He loves using the shovel, though, pushing the snow all over.

C pulled Ruby around in the sled — though they didn’t get too far, but I think she enjoyed it. And surprisingly he only dumped her out once!

I love how she is looking up and C; she looks so happy to be pulled around in the sled by her big brother.

C walked up into a big snow bank.
Movie of C in the snow

C is kind of complaining a little at the beginning of this movie, I think because he took his mittens off. But then he walks through the deep snow, and almost falls right at the end. This is definitely the most snow we’ve gotten so far this year.
Movie of Snowing

I took a movie of it snowing, for C to watch later, so that he will remember what it was like when it snowed. He likes to watch our little home movies, either after his nap or sometimes I’ll turn them on random while I’m making dinner. I guess that’s our version of sitting him down in front of the “tube”. Though we always have interesting conversations about the movies and the things we are doing in the movies. His favorite movies (right now) are the ones from when we went to the coast with Grandma Susie, the ones of Alicia and Mercedes singing at school, and “Tina ’prise” — that’s the movie of Tina’s surprise party. He still jumps a little when the lights go on and everyone yells “surprise!”
We had another snow, and I bundled the children up to go outside and appreciate it. We went for a little walk and visited the grocery store. On the way home, C tromped through some deep snow banks and I took a couple of movies.
