Glenn’s in the army now!

Glenn got shipped off to basic training in Orlando, Florida.

Grandpa labelled this “our corpor Mahonshead”. Maybe the same guy?

Grandpa labelled this “Russell Custeer” or maybe “Custeep”.

Grandpa didn’t label this one, but the guy on the left was labelled Bosch in a different picture, and the guy on the right was Russell Custeer.

Grandpa labelled this “Bosch and Glenn”. What is Bosch doing with his other hand?!

Grandpa labelled “Lieutenant Jackson. L. Ponfious” and on the back “Orlando Florida.”

There was some confusion about the date of this, but Grandpa labelled it “Orlando Florida from Army [?] Grant”, so I’ll put it with the other Orlando pictures.

That’s grandpa at the very end of the line, at the back. The guy in the middle looks like Russell Custeer.

I love that his swimming trunks have a belt!

Glenn labelled this picture “tech Sarg. Beard[ice?] was our first Sargent at Orlando.” The name was hard to read, and I didn’t ask grandpa what it was. Interesting to note “sergeant” is one of the most challenging words in the English language to spell, and it often appears in spelling bees. I guess Grandpa didn’t win any spelling bees.

Grandpa labelled it on the back “Pat Puisch” but it was hard to read. There was some confusion about the date, but it looks just like this other one that was labelled as being in Orlando, so I’ll stick it with those ones.

This one wasn’t labelled. I love this guy, though! What a hilarious charicature of WWII soldiers. Funny hat, cigarette butt, pants pulled up to his arm pits, and that funny all-purpose food cup thing. And that attitude!

I think the lower patch indicates that he is Staff Sergeant. I’m not sure about the eagle thing.

I never asked Grandpa if this was him.
